Theo: But you have the inner balance necessary to remain normal in such company, of course.
Me: Well. *scare quotes* Normal. *grin*
Theo: Yes, true, what is normal?
*pause*
Theo: Oh dear, now I've insulted you, suggesting that you might be normal. You are going to want a different supervisor now.
Me: It's okay, I know you didn't mean it.
Theo: Ah, I'm off the hook. Excellent. Until I make the next faux pas.


That wasn't even the funniest moment, but the rest of it would take a rather long post to describe.
