2 apps down, 2 rejections to await

I've finished all the pieces for the JRF application that is due in 6.5 hours. I will give it all another read-through in a couple of hours after I've spent sufficient time thinking about something else.

I had a look at the academic staff listing for this particular college, and I actually recognize one of the names! I don't think I've ever met him, but his period vaguely overlaps with mine, so hurrah and fingers crossed and all that. Still a snowball's chance, etc., but it makes me feel like I'm starting with a slightly bigger snowball.
