Item 1: [livejournal.com profile] obra is a bad, bad person. I had just managed to convince myself that I had no business dropping $400 on a Tungsten T2, and he pointed out that Dell is running a special wherein they're $300. And free shipping. And this was the day after the thing had come out. It seems very unlikely that the price is going to be lower than that for a good long time. (Like maybe after the T3 comes out.) So mine ships on the 29th.

Item 2: On the suggestion of my chiropractor (Rita Field), yesterday I went to the massage therapist who shares an office with her (Theresa Ochenkoski). I had a full hour of massage, and astonishingly enough I think it had some good lasting effects. I don't think that has ever happened before with massage and me. My shoulders, while still not straight, are noticeably straighter, and I can hold them straight if I concentrate and not feel like I'm simply slanting my spine. This means that I can have a good dancing frame. She also mentioned that I favor one of my legs (the left, I think) which I had begun to notice when trying to do cha-cha steps correctly. My appointment with Rita was right afterward, and she said my spine was in the best shape she'd ever seen it in.

Another interesting bit of the massage therapy thing came when I mentioned my inability to receive backrubs on my lower back. Once she had me on the table, she asked me to tell her when it started hurting, and I did, and she said "That's because this is all bone." So apparently everyone who has tried to rub my lower back has assumed that I have way more muscle tissue there than I actually do, and it has felt like my skin was rubbing against something hard like bone because, well, it was.

So I think I will schedule one more session, probably just half an hour this time. After that I will decide whether the effects are cumulative, or whether I regress a lot in between sessions.

Item 3: Working for eight full hours per day is really hard. Especially when you don't have anything to do. Maybe someday I will have a real project to work on. It does make me wish I were unscrupulous enough to work on mmslj at work though.

Item 4: I have learned a new clothing lesson. Polyester is a bad fabric for sleeveless shirts. At least until I run off to the desert to become a hermit. (Sleeveless shirts are for hot weather, see, and polyester is a terrible fabric to sweat into.)
