driving

I haven't been driving my car a lot lately, because I want to keep the mileage down, and keep the chances of an accident as low as possible, since I'm trying to sell it and all.

But I took it out tonight, and on the way home there was something tremendously soothing about shifting up and down the gears. I wish I didn't have to give it up. And I want to take it for a nice long drive somewhere before I do. Somewhere that doesn't particularly involve interstate driving.

I'm going to miss my car a lot.

A little while ago I went to the store to replenish the sugar supply (and, ok, to hunt down yummy British candy bars. Less success on that front than I'd have liked.) While I was waiting in the checkout line, I saw the current Newsweek issue, which is doing a cover story about the top 100 high schools in the US. So of course I had to see.

And THEY PUT ASFA IN LIKE THE TOP 20 AND COMPLETELY TOTALLY FAILED TO LIST ASMS. I am mortally offended. Weenie artistes.
