I called Oxford this morning so that I could officially barrage them with questions. The lady I talked to was nice enough to remind me which colleges I applied to, and in which order (University, Exeter, Corpus Christi, and Keble, evidently.) She said that my file is still at University for consideration, and that my application is ahead of a lot of others because I got it in a couple of weeks early, and that finding people places at college isn't a problem. She has no idea when decisions will be made about the Costopoulos scholarship, but the Clarendon decisions should be made by the end of the month. I've spent the evening browsing around on the websites. Anyone who was amused by the reference to "Michaelmas term 2003" should go read the University College online handbook, for loads of merriment. And they have a ballroom team! Yay.
I think I might really be able to go. That's so weird.
Today involved more baby horse cuteness, some actual horse riding, and otherwise just hanging around the farm. My butt is sore from the riding. (I always get Bid to ride, and I've known him since I was three, but he's getting old -- obviously -- and walks at about half the pace of the other horses. Unless he's headed back toward the barn. And he trots kind of roughly.) There was an outage at Dad's ISP most of the day, so he was almost convinced to get that broadband satellite today. He wants me around for the install though, and I'm leaving Monday. (They live way too far out for cable or DSL.)
(Oops. Forgot to do my Latin vocabulary today.)
