(Guess what I've been doing for the past few days?)
It feels kind of nice to finally be re-motivated on the Latin front. I am halfway through the 40 chapters of Wheelock. And I need to tell myself not to go so quickly. I want to be DONE already, but if I do too much too fast I'll burn out again.
Also, the new and improved elliptical is set up. I need to come up with some workable backup scheme for it. The SuSE software backs up way too much, but it has the right idea. And I want to back up people's homedirs, but not their entire homedirs, because at least in my case there are a bunch of very large things not worth backing up. Maybe I'll write some script that will DTRT as far as I'm concerned.
I now also have Windows XP Pro on the first partition of elliptical, which I have been regarding with a kind of fascinated horror. I have realized what exactly bothers me about the world of Windows, which I may write up some other time. One of these days I'm going to need to reboot to Windows and "activate" it.
Despite all the stuff I've done over the past couple of days, I feel restless, and my days feel empty. This is no doubt the result of being stuck in the house by Mr. Snowstorm. And now, even though the snow has stopped, walking on the sidewalks sucks and my car is still buried under a foot or so of snow, which I'm not looking forward to scraping off. So I don't know when I'll be leaving the house again.
