I applied for three! jobs today, from various sources. I'm trying to make a point of actively doing this job search thing, since I've slacked off for so long. My current feeling is that I don't expect to hear back from anyone, but I'll keep sending bits into the black hole at least until I get all discouraged from my next rejection.
Now that the school thing appears not to be an impossible dream after all, my ideal job would be some kind of short-term contract. I can get by until September if I don't spend money, but that involves not having much fun so I don't like that idea. If I get a contract job I'll have spending money to do something fun. Like cart myself off somewhere.
So I'm waiting on job stuff, and I'm waiting on grad school stuff, and I'm waiting for my shiny new computer that's supposed to be ready on Saturday. I need something to do. Something that will allow me to not think about all this stuff I'm waiting on.
